How to change the administrator password in my Dlink Cover AX1800 Whole Home WiFi Mesh system?

The administrator password of the Dlink Cover Whole Wi-Fi mesh system could easily be changed whenever the user desires. Only after the Dlink Router setup process, the user could change the password as until then the user has to use the default login password every time he enters the web interface of the device. In case the user forgets the login password, he has to restore the default settings to the router. The user could reset by using the web interface of dlinkrouter.local window or manually using the paper clip or any tiny or pointy object.

Steps to change the administrator password in Dlink Cover AX 1800 Whole Home Wi-Fi system.

  1. Launch a browser on your Internet Explorer and type www.dlinkrouter.local on the address bar of your browser. You also could type 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 which is the IP address of your Dlink Router.
  2. Hit the Enter button and the Dlink Router login page appears on the screen.
  3. Mention the correct username and password on their respective credentials. The default username of the login page is “Admin” and type down the admin password that you assigned during the Dlink Router setup process.
  4. If the user has not changed the default password, he needs to leave the password field blank. Click on the login button and the main web page of dlinkrouter.local window appears on the screen.
  5. Click on the Tool tab then click on the Admin tab from the main menu residing on the top of the left-hand side.
  6. Locate the Password field within the page, Go to the Password field and change the administrator password. Re-type the password in the Verify Password field to verify the router password.
  7. Click on the Save settings to apply and save the settings you recently have made.

How to enable the DMZ server within the Dlink Cover Whole Home Wi-Fi mesh system?

DMZ server is only used when the user is unable to run the various online application from the router. By enabling the Demilitarized Zone feature, the user forwards all the incoming traffic to the specified device that temporarily disables the firewall protection within the device. This also exposes your Dlink Router to various security risks. Most users use this feature as a last option when they are unable to utilize a variety of internet applications from behind the router.

Steps to enable DMZ server within the Dlink Cover whole Wi-Fi mesh system

  1. Open a browser and type www.dlinkrotuer.local or 192.168.1.1 on the web address of the browser. 192.168.1.1 is the IP address of the Dlink router that could also be used as the alternative of www.dlinkrouter.local to get to the default gateway of your router.
  2. Type down the respective credentials within their respective fields. Leave the password field blank if you haven’t changed the password after the Dlink router setup process.
  3. Click on the login button and you will reach dlinkrouter.local main web page screen.
  4. Take your cursor to the Features option, click on the Firewall tab choosing it from the drop-down list.
  5. Enable the DMZ server by toggling the sliding bar to the right side.
  6. Now, you need to enter the IP address of the computer in the DMZ IP address field of which you are enabling the DMZ server.
  7. You could also select your device from the drop-down list.
  8. Click on the Save button to save all the configurations you made.

Note: You must know the IP address of the device in which you want to enable the DMZ server.
